Movebooth supports five capture modes, configurable per channel: standard photo, boomerang, GIF, video, and Rover (roaming).

Available capture modes

  • Standard Photo — Single still image. Works on all plans.

  • Boomerang — Short looping video clip (like Instagram Boomerang).

  • GIF — Animated GIF from a burst of frames.

  • Video — Short video clip shared via email or SMS.

  • Rover — Handheld roaming mode — take the iPad off the kiosk and capture photos or videos anywhere at the venue.

How to set your capture mode

  1. Log in at app.mvbth.com

  2. Go to Channels and open the channel you want to configure

  3. Under Capture Mode, select your preferred mode

  4. Save and relaunch the app on your iPad

Common questions

Q: Can I offer multiple capture modes at one event?
A: Each channel has one capture mode. Create multiple channels with different modes and switch between them during your event.

Q: Does Rover mode work without the kiosk stand?
A: Yes. Rover mode is designed for handheld use — just hold the iPad and capture.

Q: Are all capture modes available on all plans?
A: Yes. Capture modes are available on all plan tiers (Lite, Plus, Pro).
